Interior design significantly impacts how we live our daily lives and yet has been abhorrently difficult to change throughout time. I craft new business ideas in this space. My first company was Shane Reilly Inc., a bi-coastal interior design firm founded in 2003 with offices in New York and San Francisco. We developed innovative methods for completing interior design projects rapidly while executing high-end, high-speed projects, such as a penthouse in NYC's Bloomberg building and an estate in San Francisco's Marina district. I was selected for various design events, such as the San Francisco Decorators Showcase House and DIFFA's Dining by Design, and published my first book, Inspired High-End Interior Design, a collection of 80 interior designer interviews. Driven by the lack of interior design information online, in 2007 I launched my second business, Decorati.com, which provided access to trade-only home furnishing products typically sold in design centers and an easy way for consumers to solicit proposals from professional interior designers. In 2011, Decorati was acquired by Gilt Groupe, the largest luxury flash sales company, to relaunch Gilt Home. I led several new business initiatives as Gilt’s VP of Home and left in 2012.
I have been featured in Fast Company, Martha Stewart Radio, NY Post, Interior Design Magazine, The New York Times, Traditional Home, TechCrunch, Silicon Alley Insider, Financial Times, Bloomberg Market, Luxe, Spaces Magazine, NBC and HGTV. I served as Editor-In-Chief of Decorati Access, Decorati's widely-read interior design e-newsletter and blog. I have been a frequent speaker at industry events and a guest blogger for AOL's Shelterpop and Forbes.com. I earned a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business.
